The aim of the event is to facilitate mutually beneficial investment opportunities between Chinese and British businesses, with the Chinese delegation considering opportunities to invest in British firms.

The delegation from China includes: Li Haojie, a mining tycoon developing a global powerboat race that he aims to bring to London; Tim Tse, founder of Shanghai private members' club House of Roosevelt and chairman of Roosevelt China Investments; and Yang Bin, founder of Shengyan Group, with interests in energy, mining and finance.

Stream Technologies, CEO, Nigel Chadwick said: "This event is testimony to the increasing global investment and collaboration between Chinese and UK companies. This is essential if technical innovation and globalisation of sales is to have best chance of success. I'm looking forward immensely to participating in this event and to forging increasingly strong ties and business opportunities with China."

Other businesses presenting at the event include: Bedford-based Hybrid Air Vehicles, which is behind the giant Airlander; Oncimmune, a life sciences developer working on early cancer detection; tech firm San Francisco Science; SDCL, an investor in energy-efficient projects; and Nmite, which is creating an engineering university, the first such institution in Britain for 40 years, it says.

The event, which will be opened by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, is supported by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and by DBS Bank.
